The 48th Chicago International Film Festival will take place October 11-25, 2012 and continues its tradition of leading audiences to discover great cinema. As the premiere film and cultural event of the Midwest, the Festival unites film lovers and filmmakers from around the world for two weeks in October with the belief that movies can involve an audience by challenging, entertaining, and inspiring them. In order to produce such an event, the Festival annually hires a group of dedicated individuals to work both in the offices of Cinema/Chicago and in off-site locations during the months of August through October.
Lastly, these seasonal positions usually entail long hours, and employees are expected to devote as much time as necessary to complete their tasks.

Publications Manager: ACCEPTING RESUMES
The Publications Manager oversees the production of the Festival’s print and web materials, including the Sneak Preview, Festival Schedule (48 pages) and Program Book (250 pages). Candidate must have strong writing and copy editing skills, must be able to work to meet tight deadlines, and be able to manage a team of writers. Ideal candidate will have experience in print publications and film background. Position starts immediately and runs through the end of September.
Print Traffic Coordinator: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Confirms, tracks, and monitors the transportation of and oversight of hundreds of film prints coming to the Festival from around the world. Ensures the prints are delivered to the right venues during the Festival for screenings. This is a very multifaceted organizational position that requires great attention to detail and the management of a large body of information. Must have excellent communication and time management skills and be level-headed and meticulous. Previous experience with print traffic and familiarity with film projection is desirable. Valid drivers license and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required. September 26 - October 26.
Operations Assistant: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Reports to the Operations Manager and Managing Director to assist in the organization of all operational and logistical aspects of the festival. Must be detail oriented and have a driver's license. Second half of September through the end of the Festival.
Special Events Manager: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Oversees all special events at the Chicago International Film Festival including red carpets, gala receptions, filmmaker dinners, tribute events, after-parties, etc. Duties include planning and execution of all events, coordinating with venue and vendors, ensuring a high standard of event production. Long hours are required. Must have 5+ years of special events management experience. August 15 - October 26.
Volunteer/Membership Assistant: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Responsibilities include assisting Volunteer Coordinator with recruitment, scheduling and inspiring volunteer team throughout all activities at the Chicago International Film Festival. Must have exceptional inter-personal skills, be detail-oriented and have previous volunteer experience. September 26 - October 26.
Travel Coordinator: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Duties include working with airline and hotel partners to make travel arrangements for Festival guests, prepare guests' itineraries and pertinent information, coordinating daily airport pick-up schedule with Transportation Manager, and assisting Hospitality Manager with guest services during the Festival. Must be exceptionally detail-oriented. Mid-August through the end of the Festival.
Hospitality Manager: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Duties include registering all Festival guests upon their arrivals, ensuring their attendance of their screenings/Festival events, working with the Transportation Manager for all guests' ground transportation needs, preparing on a daily basis during the Festival "guests in town" list and, most important of all, making sure the guests enjoy their stay in Chicago and their entire visit of the Festival. Foreign language skills desirable. Last week of September through the end of the festival.

Duties include assisting Hospitality Manager with all aspects of guest services, including overseeing the nightly Filmmakers Lounge. Foreign language skills desirable. Positions involve long hours, including evening and weekends. Mid-September - October 26.
Transportation Manager: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Duties include managing the schedule of airport pick-ups and drop-offs for all festival guests, overseeing the drivers' schedules, and attending to guests' local transportation requirements. Must have familiarity with the downtown locations and traffic conditions. Good driving skills, detail orientated, polite with professional manner. Jury Coordinators: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Duties include attending to the main Jury, acting as a local escort to the Jury members. Good driving skills and familiarity with the city of Chicago are required. During the Festival only.

Duties include providing ground transportation to Festival guests in provided vehicles and ensuring they arrive in a safe and timely manner. Hours are flexible, but may involve some evening and weekend hours.
Ticketing Manager: ACCEPTING RESUMES
Working under the supervision of the Operations Manager to oversee all ticketing activities for the Festival, including telephone, mail, online and automated ticketing system. Strong familiarity of Ticketmaster system is strongly preferred but not necessary. In-house training will be provided. Good customer service skills and ability to balance accounts and prepare deposits required. Must schedule employee hours, supply ticketing reports and time sheets, and oversee ticket fulfillment and disbursement.Location will vary amongst Festival office, box office(s), and off-site store locations. Full-time, some evening and weekend hours required.

Working under the supervision of the Ticketing/Box Office Manager to sell tickets for the Festival. Knowledge of automated ticketing systems is preferred but not necessary. Working with Ticketing/Box Office Manager to manage the Festival ticket sales through telephones, mail orders, and automated ticketing system. Requires good administrative skills. THEATER - GUEST SERVICES
